Stitching A Dragon While Watching Magicky Goodness

As some of you may know, I love to stitch while watching nerdy BBC television series.  I don’t know why, maybe it’s the accents… Either way, some of my favorites have included:
-Dr. Who
-Torchwood
-Robin Hood
-North and South (which wasn’t a TV show so much as a miniseries)

Now there is a new show to add to the ranks. My husband and I started watching Merlin about a week ago, and I’m totally hooked! It’s a kind of prequel type thing where Merlin is a teenager and he is Arthur’s manservant, and Arthur’s father is still around.  Enough stuff is different so that you’re not exactly sure how they’re going to get to the actual “Knights of the Round Table” bit, but the storytelling is good and the characters are familiar and likeable enough that you definitely want to find out.

Yay for BBC television!

That being said…
A Tenth Down, Only 9 More To Go!

By my calculations this piece has 18,150 stitches, and I’ve finished AROUND 1,800ish… I’m not going to spend time actually counting how many stitches I’ve done, but it’s a decent estimate.
Here are some pictures of my progress:

I’ve completed the first column on the left-hand side, so you can see how tall it will be when it’s finished.

EXTREME CLOSEUP!

You can almost tell that this will be the dragon’s wing… almost.
